Welcome Starr and Harkins

We are pleased to announce the addition of David Starr, Jim Harkins and Lynn Howard to the Seattle office.  This team joins us from the Seattle branch of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney

David Starr began his career in 1976 at Foster and Marshall where he learned the Graham & Dodd (value) approach to stock picking. He is a Seattle native with deep roots in the Northwest.  He received a BS degree from Central Washington as well as a graduate degree in Marine Biology from Western Washington University.  He and his wife Janet live in Bellevue.

Jim Harkins began his investment career at Smith Barney in 2002 and partnered with Dave a few years later.  He focuses on the needs of privately held business owners, small endowments and high net worth individuals.  Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Jim was a Senior Account Manager for GE Capital’s Commercial Asset Funding group for over 4 years.  Jim grew up in Boston and graduated with a BA in Political Science from St. Michael’s College in Vermont.  Jim and his wife Joan live in Magnolia and have two boys.

Lynn Howard has been in the investment industry for over 14 years and has been an integral part of this team for the past 5 years.  Lynn brings a strong focus and belief in financial planning to the team.  Lynn is a native Texan and graduated from the University of Texas El Paso.  She relocated to Washington in 1990.  She and her husband Jeff live in Seattle and have two teenage children.
