Brooks G. Ragen
Chairman

Brooks serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Manzanita Capital, Inc. and McAdams Wright Ragen, Inc. (MWR). He holds degrees from Yale University, Stanford Law School, and New York University Graduate School of Business Administration, and is a member of the Oregon State Bar.  After three years as a research analyst with Dominick & Dominick in New York, Brooks opened that firm’s Seattle office in 1961.  In 1972, he opened a Seattle office and served as regional manager for Blyth Eastman Dillon.  From 1976 until 1982 he was Managing Director of Blyth’s Investment Banking Department in the Pacific Northwest.

Brooks joined two venture capitalists to form Cable Howse & Ragen in 1982, serving as Managing Partner.  In 1987, the firm incorporated as Ragen MacKenzie, of which he became CEO and Chairman of the Board.  On January 1, 1999, Brooks, in association with others, formed Manzanita Capital, Inc., a holding company which owns MWR.

Brooks has previously served as president of multiple civic organizations and has served on the boards of several Pacific Northwest publicly held corporations.

Scott W. McAdams
President, CEO

Scott received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1979, and worked for the Boeing Company before earning his MBA from the University of Washington.  In 1986 Scott joined Cable Howse & Ragen as an equity analyst.  In 1988 he served at Shearson Lehman, Inc.'s Foster & Marshall Division as a technology, bank, and retail stock analyst.  Scott returned to Ragen MacKenzie, Inc. in 1989, where he specialized in technology and bank stocks and established himself as a leading analyst on Microsoft.  He co-founded Manzanita Capital, Inc. in 1999 with Brooks Ragen. 

Scott has served on a number of philanthropic boards and is currently on the board of Classical KING FM 98.1.

David J. Director
Executive Vice President, CFO

Dave graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration in 1980. He began his career, and earned his CPA, with the public accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells, and from 1982 to 1987 was the Controller of the Seattle investment firm Cable Howse & Ragen. In 1987 Dave joined Murphy Favre, Inc. (the brokerage subsidiary of Washington Mutual Savings Bank) as Vice President and CFO, and for seven years prior to joining MWR was the CFO of The Ben Bridge Corporation.

Dave is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as a Financial and Operational Principal and a General Securities Principal, and is a past member of FINRA's District 3 West Region Committee.  He has also served on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
